By Way of Introduction

   WELCOME to our offering for readers of a romantic inclination, Hadley’s Romance Book. While other serial journals decry the sorts of writing which disrupts the steady beating of the heart and sends the reader’s feelings into a state of such elevated excitement and suspense as to constrict the chest and shorten the breath, this journal is dedicated to the promotion of such engaging stories that stir the mighty passions. 

   Our flagship serial is entitled The Secret Soldier, the two-volume story of a young woman who, escaping an unsatisfactory marriage, dresses as a man to enlist in the Union Army, and her strapping bunkmate who is determined to find out what she’s hiding.

 Our journal returned to releasing bi-weekly issues via our newsletter June 6, 2025 and features regular installments of Volume 2 of The Secret Soldier, A Right Honorable Soldier, as well as novelties including riddles, receipts, sewing, knitting, &c.

Volume 1, A Fine Looking Soldier, is now available in eBook and print.
